Very few Scout activities have caught the publics’ imagination like the Gang Show, the brainchild of one man, Ralph Reader CBE. Ralph Reader died on May 13, 1982 but he will be remembered for years and years to come up and down the country and across the world as his songs are sung and his sketches performed.

October 31st 1932 saw the curtain rise on the first ever Gang Show at the Scala Theatre in London. The London Show closed in 1974 and an era in Scout entertainment ended.  It would have celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1981. As it was, it took its final curtain after a distinguished career of Royal Command Performances, television shows and packed houses.
